Lateral Partner or Senior Counsel - Insurance Defense

About the role

An established firm with over 65 years in practice and nine offices across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware is seeking Counsel - Insurance Defense with senior to partner level experience to join their team onsite in Mount Laurel or Warren, New Jersey.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of insurance defense matters across construction, employment practices liability, commercial, and real estate disputes
• Serve as first chair in depositions, motions, and trials
• Advise insurer and corporate clients on litigation strategy and risk
• Collaborate with claims professionals and adjusters throughout the litigation lifecycle
• Mentor junior associates and contribute to business development efforts

Requirements

• Extensive experience handling insurance defense matters from filing through trial
• First chair litigation experience is required
• Portable book of business is NOT REQUIRED, but is a plus for lateral partner candidates

Qualifications

• Bar admission in New Jersey is required, Pennsylvania admission is a plus
• Strong academic and professional background with a track record of client-facing responsibility
• Comfortable working in office daily with a path to hybrid flexibility over time

Pay

Salary range: $180,000 to $275,000+, based on years of experience and practice level (book of business not required)
