Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate AMADA laser cutting machines (e.g., ENSIS, LCG, FO series) to cut sheet metal parts to specifications.
- Load and unload materials from the laser machine using forklifts, cranes, or manually as needed.
- Interpret and work from blueprints, CAD drawings, and job orders.
- Adjust machine settings to ensure precision cuts, including focus, speed, and power settings.
- Perform regular inspection and measurement of finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools to ensure quality standards are met.
- Utilize AMADA software and controls, such as AMNC or VPSS, for machine operation and file management.
- Maintain accurate production and quality records.
- Follow safety protocols and keep work area clean and organized.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Technical/vocational training a plus.
- 2+ years of experience operating AMADA laser cutting machines or similar CNC laser equipment.
- Proficient in reading technical drawings and blueprints.
- Familiarity with AMADA control systems (e.g., AMNC 3i, Fanuc).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience with basic maintenance and troubleshooting of laser equipment.
- Forklift operation experience is a plus.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with AMADA CAD/CAM software (Dr. ABE, VPSS 3i).
- Knowledge of different metal types and thicknesses (steel, aluminum, stainless).
- Previous work in a lean manufacturing environment.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing floor environment.
- Exposure to noise, metal dust, and machinery.
- Use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is required.
- Night Shift working schedule, including overtime and weekends.
