Laser Operator (Aerospace) – Weekend Shift

About the role

As a member of our team at Exotic Metals Forming Division (EMFD), you will be part of a highly talented group blending a passion for manufacturing with relentless customer support. This role operates on a weekend shift, contributing to our mission of enabling engineering breakthroughs that lead to a better tomorrow.

Responsibilities

• Perform setups and operations using Fiber and/or YAG CNC lasers on production hardware.
• Train others on part set-up and run (as needed).
• Repair, rework, or recut parts with guidance and oversight.
• Identify and solve, with direct oversight, machine alignment problems.
• Troubleshoot minor program errors independently.
• Provide input on tool design.
• Set up and run parts with limited resource support, within established timeframes on a minimum of two machine types.
• Apply basic understanding of G and M code.
• Work under limited oversight.
• Perform shop support responsibilities, including deburring, manual pressure cleaning, part prep, and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be able to use mathematics relevant to laser operator functions.
• Requires familiarity with machine tools, precision instruments, and good manual dexterity.
• Able to do some job development with guidance and oversight.
• Reads and understands manufacturing planning, sketches, blueprints, and specifications.
• Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Knows where to find this information at Exotic and asks for help when necessary.
• High School Diploma or equivalent GED required.

Working Conditions

• Use of protective clothing, laser safety glasses, and other equipment to prevent burns and eye injuries.
• Frequent use of hand tools and pressure washer.
• Frequent crane use and overhead work.

Physical Requirements

• Performs physical activities requiring considerable use of arms and legs and frequent movement of the whole body, such as climbing, repetitive lifting up to 40 pounds, balancing, and handling of material.
• Attention to detail and accuracy are critical.
• Lifting up to 50 pounds may be required.

This position is subject to meeting U.S. export compliance and/or U.S. Government contracting citizenship eligibility requirements. Parker provides for a drug-free workplace, and all applicants will be subject to drug testing as a condition of employment.

Pay

Pay Range: $20/hr to $31.6/hr

Participation in Annual Incentive Program.
