• Stamping: Hot and conventional stamping (100–800 tons); automotive & industrial metals; multi-location facilities for high-volume production

Work Schedule

2nd Shift: 2:30pm-10:30pm; Monday-Friday with overtime and weekends based on business needs.

Nature & Scope

Under supervision, perform line tech duties. An Entry Level to Level One operator must be able to run a Laser Cell. Operator must be aware of safety procedures and lockout/tag out. Operator must be able to inspect parts correctly according to inspection procedures. Must be able to fill out production tags and all production related forms, which includes hourly parts ran, down time, and issues not allowing an efficient run. Entry Level to Level One techs as well as all level operators are required to maintain an efficiency rate of 85%.

Principle Accountabilities

• Under supervision, run a Laser cell per required job target.
• Execute all production and quality procedures.
• Inspect parts in Gauge and understand customer packing requirements.
• Fill out tags properly.
• Maintain a clean working environment; 5S the cell (no hand prints on guarding, garbage picked up, True Control 1000 screen clean, robot panels free of debris).
• Safety first: bring potential hazards to production supervisor; follow Lockout/Tagout procedures.

Laser Operator Entry Level To Level One Accountabilities

• Run target numbers with minimum issues.
• Work with Production Supervisor to maintain production schedule and job changes.
• Maintain and 5S line.
• Assist with all job changes and organize area for production runs.
• Understand Plex to make labels.
• Understand how to check the ceramic tip for damages.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Physical Demands: The position may involve walking, standing for long periods throughout the day. Requires being able to lift up to 40 pounds, push and pull up to 50 pounds. Stooping/bending/twisting is required on occasion. This job involves attention to detail. Fast-paced environment, usually standard 40-hour weeks, but overtime may be necessary as workload dictates.

Work Environment: Work performed in an office and shop environment. Requires wearing personal protective or safety equipment. Requires working in a non-air-conditioned variable temperature factory setting with high temperatures and high humidity, exposed to hot and cold temperatures.
