Laser Operator - 2nd Shift (2:00 pm to 10:30 pm)

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all safety guidelines and requirements.
• Perform laser startup and preventive maintenance (PM) of the machine.
• Operate overhead crane.
• Check first and last pieces for quality.
• Ensure parts are free from blemishes.
• Use pin gauges, calipers, micrometers, FaberVision, and CMM to validate parts to prints.
• Make adjustments such as laser offsets and alignment.
• Stock parts in a safe and orderly manner.
• Clean machine during and before the end of the shift.
• Make sure all tools are returned to the shadow board.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous experience in a related role preferred.
• Previous experience leading employees required.
• Able to make fast, accurate decisions relating to the production process and equipment.
• Quality standards must be strictly adhered to, so attention to detail is extremely important.
• Basic understanding of blueprints required.

Physical Requirements

• The employee is required to remain upright on the feet for sustained periods of time.
• The employee will be required to reach or lift.
• The position is subject to substantial movements of the wrists, hands, or fingers.
• The worker is required to have visual acuity to perform activities such as operating machines where the seeing job is within arm’s reach.
• The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions: protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
