Laser Operator - 1st Shift - Springfield, OH

Duties and responsibilities

• Understands machine setup including program retrieval, proper gases, proper nozzles, and materials
• Understands start-up and shut down for laser machines
• Diagnose machining problems while performing jobs, making modifications as needed
• Operate overhead cranes, tape measure, calipers, and hand tools
• Operate and navigate in a windows-based computer environment
• Can program nesting software to maximize product/material usage
• Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
• Perform operator maintenance and/or 5S housekeeping per established schedules
• Understand and work within an ERP System (Epicor)

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1-3 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment
• Good attendance
• Ability to use basic math to analyze information and measuring equipment
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to work safely and efficiently
• Ability to work with close tolerance
• Ability to work in a team and independently
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instruction and written processes
• Additional courses in CNC set-up and operation

Physical requirements

• Regularly use fingers and hands to handle or feel
• Reach with hands and arms
• Talk or hear
• Frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
• Sometimes lift and/or move objects up to 100 pounds
• Regularly lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds
• Occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 10 pounds
• Close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision
• Ability to adjust focus

Pay and Schedule

Pay rate - $18.13/hour
Schedule – 6:00am - 2:30pm Monday - Friday onsite
