Duties and responsibilities
- Understands machine setup including program retrieval, proper gases, proper nozzles, and materials
- Understands start-up and shut down for laser machines
- Diagnose machining problems while performing jobs, making modifications as needed
- Operate overhead cranes, tape measure, calipers, and hand tools
- Operate and navigate in a windows-based computer environment
- Can program nesting software to maximize product/material usage
- Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
- Perform operator maintenance and/or 5S housekeeping per established schedules
- Understand and work within an ERP System (Epicor)
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Good attendance
- Ability to use basic math to analyze information and measuring equipment
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work safely and efficiently
- Ability to work with close tolerance
- Ability to work in a team and independently
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instruction and written processes
- Additional courses in CNC set-up and operation
Physical requirements
- Regularly use fingers and hands to handle or feel
- Reach with hands and arms
- Talk or hear
- Frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
- Sometimes lift and/or move objects up to 100 pounds
- Regularly lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds
- Occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 10 pounds
- Close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision
- Ability to adjust focus
Pay and Schedule
Pay rate - $18.13/hour
Schedule – 6:00am - 2:30pm Monday - Friday onsite
