About the role
The Large Water Meter Specialist is responsible for the installation and repair of indoor/outdoor commercial and industrial size meters.Responsibilities
- Installing, replacing, reading, testing and repairing large commercial and industrial water meters 2"-10".
- Utilizing various tools and equipment such as basic hand tools, tape measures, grinders, saws, ventilators, tripods, pumps, gas monitors, and air-tools.
- Affords assistance in maintaining inventory of meters of various sizes and repair parts. Solves customer complaints.
- Makes inspections of meters to ensure they are functioning properly. Assists in testing large meters for accuracy.
- Maintains vehicle by replacing tools and parts needed to complete the job. Informs supervisor of service and repairs needed on the vehicle.
- Enters confined space areas on a regular basis to perform above duties.
- Scheduled overtime outside of working hours.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- A valid Ohio Driver's license with a safe driving record and a drug screening are required.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of Confined Space Entry, GIS, City Works and EPA guidelines.
- Ability to follow safety standards, interact with customers and various departments, demonstrate initiative, exercise basic judgement and logic, and consistently deliver general customer service in a professional fashion.
