Language & Reading Tutor

Tutoring Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, individualized virtual instruction tailored to each student's reading level, literacy goals, and unique learning profile
• Create structured lesson plans focused on core literacy components (such as phonics, vocabulary, fluency, comprehension, or essay writing) that align with grade-level standards and student needs
• Adapt instruction in real time based on student engagement, decoding challenges, and comprehension building blocks to foster confidence and a love for reading
• Track student progress and communicate effectively with families and, where applicable, school district partners regarding reading growth and language milestones

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required
• Experience working with students who have education needs
• Ability to design and deliver lesson plans aligned to student goals and accommodations
• Strong virtual instruction skills — comfort with video conferencing, digital whiteboards, and keeping students engaged online
• Ability to pass a background check
• Reliable computer, internet, webcam, and quiet workspace

Preferred

• Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
