Volunteer Opportunity Details Volunteer Opportunity ID: 4037 Description of Duties: A & O Senior Immigrant Settlement Services requires culturally sensitive volunteers, who enjoy working with older adults in our Language Buddy for Seniors Program. The Volunteer Helps older adult newcomers feel less isolated and lonely by calling once or twice a week using their native languages.Ability to communicate in languages other than English. Skills Required Must be culturally sensitive.Interest in working with people from different cultures, and with older adults.Ability to communicate in languages other than English.Ability to abide by Agency's Code of Confidentiality.Friendly and welcoming manner. Skills Gained/Related Careers: Communicating with older adultsOpportunity to practice interpersonal skills Age: 18-30, 31-54, 55+ Time Commitment: Daytime , Evening , Weekend , Remote Volunteering , Flexible Hours Approximately one hour per week.
