About the Role
Join our AoPS Academy as a Part-Time Language Arts Instructor, where you'll teach engaging, company-created curriculum designed for advanced students in small classroom settings.
Responsibilities
- Use company-created curriculum and materials to lead small classes in language arts.
- Actively engage students in each class for student-led learning.
- Expertly manage classrooms of up to 16 students.
- Grade student work and provide constructive feedback on tests.
- Build relationships with students and families to make a lasting impact on their educational journey.
- Inspire a love for learning and critical thinking in language arts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (required). A Bachelor’s degree in education or a humanities field is strongly preferred.
- Strong content knowledge in reading, writing, and/or grammar.
- Experience teaching or tutoring students.
- Must be located in Fremont, CA or the greater area and able to commute to our campus.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US; sponsorship (including STEM-OPT and H-1B) is not available.
Schedule
- Classes are held in the evenings and on weekends, with weekday after-school hours starting as early as 4 PM.
- Minimum initial commitment of about 3 hours per week for each assigned class.
- Each course meets once per week for 1 hour and 45 minutes.
Pay
Pay rate ranges from $42.50 to $42.81 per hour.
