Landscape Technician

About the Role

At Crescent Moon Landscaping, we seek hardworking technicians to execute the landscaping needs of our customers. The ideal candidate will have a good attitude, be willing to learn and try new things, and able to overcome daily challenges and changes. You will work in the field in a variety of conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc.) and be skilled and/or trained in driving a truck and trailer, using hand tools, power equipment, and other landscape equipment (blowers, trimmers). You will also contribute to maintaining an environment of trust, diversity, and inclusion within your team.

Responsibilities

• Execute landscaping tasks assigned by management staff.
• Maintain trucks, trailers, and equipment used during daily tasks.
• Work with other crews and management staff to keep the shop and laydown yard organized, clean, and presentable.
• Installation Crews: Demo of existing landscape features (turf, plants, decks, patios, etc.); site preparation (grading, fine-tuning beds and turf areas, excavating for hardscaping features, troubleshooting irrigation and lighting systems, etc.); installation (sod, plants, irrigation, lighting, hardscapes, carpentry projects, drainage, etc.).
• All Crews: Monthly maintenance of trucks, trailers, and equipment; cleaning and assisting in projects around the shop and laydown yard; helping other teams meet their goals.

Requirements

• Great attitude and willingness to learn.
• Able to drive a truck and trailer.
• Able to start, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot basic landscaping equipment (trimmers, blowers, tiller, pull trencher, etc.).
• Able to use and maintain hand/manual tools (shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, tamps, etc.).
• Minimum of 40–45 hours per week (9–10 hours Monday–Thursday and 5 hours on Friday if all tasks are completed).
• Work schedule: Monday–Friday with some Saturdays; start time at 6:20 am.
• In the event of an absence, coordinate with management to ensure work is completed.
