Landscape Technician 1

About the role

The Landscape Technician I will be responsible for assisting in the maintenance and safety of the campus grounds in all locations, including lawn care, seasonal plantings, snow removal, and tree trimming to maintain the aesthetics of the property. This role positively contributes to the overall visitor and staff experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage growth and condition of all plants, trees, shrubs, and ground cover (indoors and outdoors) by utilizing lawn care equipment and tools for maintaining plant care
• Provide snow removal and salting services for all properties
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on machines and equipment to ensure proper and efficient functioning
• Maintain aesthetic landscape design and update related paperwork
• Participate in ongoing design/redesign of grounds and gardens
• Provide tree trimming, pesticide/fertilizer application services
• Participate in “on-call rotation” of facilities maintenance
• Support various events throughout the Art Center

Qualifications

• Aceessory degree with study in Landscape Horticulture
• 1-3 years’ landscaping experience
• 1-3 years’ experience with hand and power tools, small engine maintenance, and the ability to troubleshoot
• Valid Wisconsin’s Driver’s License
