Landscape Enhancement Crew Member - Orlando

About the role

The crew member will perform a variety of landscaping tasks, including sod laying, mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, and raking.

Responsibilities

• Care for lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing, removing thatch, and trimming and edging around flower beds, walks, and walls.
• Mix and spray or spread fertilizers, herbicides, or insecticides onto grass, shrubs, and trees using hand or automatic sprayers or spreaders.
• Mow and edge lawns using power mowers and edgers.
• Plant seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, and shrubs, and apply mulch for protection using gardening tools.
• Follow planned landscaping designs as directed by Crew Leader and General Manager.
• Gather and remove litter.
• Prune and trim trees, shrubs, and hedges using shears, pruners, or chain saws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of experience in commercial landscaping required.
• Ability to handle the physical demands of the work, including weather conditions, heavy lifting, and extensive walking.
• Ability to speak Spanish is a plus but not required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit for extended periods while operating a motor vehicle.
• Ability to lift 60 lbs.
• Ability to work in severe weather conditions, both hot and cold, and travel in inclement weather.
• Ability to work in confined spaces.
• Ability to stand and exert physical effort performing manual labor 50-70% of the time.
• Able to tolerate exposure to moderate noise levels.

Pay

$16.00 - $20.00/hour
