Landscape Designer II, Landscape Architecture

About the role

Halff is seeking a Landscape Designer II to join our Planning & Landscape Architecture team in Houston, TX or The Woodlands, TX. The ideal candidate will have 3-4 years of experience in landscape architecture, including projects like parks, recreation planning, and urban design.

Responsibilities

• Landscape architectural and planning project support.
• Work directly with landscape architects and project managers.
• Participate in site inventory and analysis.
• Aid in project research and data compilation for the design process.
• Develop conceptual site planning and graphics, schematic/preliminary design plans, design development, and construction document plans and details.
• Prepare quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
• Prepare technical specifications for bid documents.
• Create landscape compliance documents for land development projects.
• Create maps and graphic renderings for planning projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in landscape architecture from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in Landscape Architecture, focusing on projects such as parks, recreation and trail planning and design, urban parks, plazas, streetscapes, transportation enhancements, land development, and large-scale planning.
• Texas registration as a Professional Landscape Architect preferred, or willingness to obtain.
• Demonstrated experience in site analysis and conceptual design graphics/exhibits.
• Experience in preparing construction documents.
• Well organized, detail-oriented, and highly motivated.
• Strong design and graphic skills; writing skills a plus.
• Experience with industry software applications such as AutoCAD, Land F/X, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop/InDesign/Illustrator), Microsoft Office, and Lumion.
• MicroStation and ArcGIS experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Ability to travel periodically to support project needs.

Skills

• Strong design and graphic skills.
• Writing skills a plus.
• Industry software applications such as AutoCAD, Land F/X, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop/InDesign/Illustrator), Microsoft Office, and Lumion.
• MicroStation and ArcGIS experience is a plus.
