About the role
Halff is seeking a Landscape Designer II to join our Planning & Landscape Architecture team in Houston, TX or The Woodlands, TX. The ideal candidate will have 3-4 years of experience in landscape architecture, including projects like parks, recreation planning, and urban design.
Responsibilities
- Landscape architectural and planning project support.
- Work directly with landscape architects and project managers.
- Participate in site inventory and analysis.
- Aid in project research and data compilation for the design process.
- Develop conceptual site planning and graphics, schematic/preliminary design plans, design development, and construction document plans and details.
- Prepare quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
- Prepare technical specifications for bid documents.
- Create landscape compliance documents for land development projects.
- Create maps and graphic renderings for planning projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in landscape architecture from an accredited university.
- Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in Landscape Architecture, focusing on projects such as parks, recreation and trail planning and design, urban parks, plazas, streetscapes, transportation enhancements, land development, and large-scale planning.
- Texas registration as a Professional Landscape Architect preferred, or willingness to obtain.
- Demonstrated experience in site analysis and conceptual design graphics/exhibits.
- Experience in preparing construction documents.
- Well organized, detail-oriented, and highly motivated.
- Strong design and graphic skills; writing skills a plus.
- Experience with industry software applications such as AutoCAD, Land F/X, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop/InDesign/Illustrator), Microsoft Office, and Lumion.
- MicroStation and ArcGIS experience is a plus.
Qualifications
- Ability to travel periodically to support project needs.
Skills
- Strong design and graphic skills.
- Writing skills a plus.
- Industry software applications such as AutoCAD, Land F/X, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop/InDesign/Illustrator), Microsoft Office, and Lumion.
- MicroStation and ArcGIS experience is a plus.
