Landscape Crew Lead

About the role

Village Green Landscapes is seeking Landscape Crew Leads at their New Brighton, Brooklyn Park, and Savage locations. This position offers a pay range of $25.00 - $33.00 per hour DOE, paid sick time, and the possibility for full-time year-round employment with potential for commercial snow removal in the winter months.

Responsibilities

• On-site supervision of a landscape crew consisting of 2-4 people
• Demonstrate the ability to safely operate equipment required for landscape installation including skid loader, saw, edging machines, and compactors
• Work alongside assigned crew to complete landscape installation projects
• Provide training and mentorship to landscaping crew to ensure success
• Plan, schedule, and supervise all assigned jobs
• Identify and install plants per landscape plan
• Keep jobs on schedule and on budget while meeting production rates and maintaining quality standards
• Ensure safety procedures are followed, accidents and workers’ compensation claims are properly documented and reported
• Maintain safe and clean work environment by all team members
• Communicate effectively with customers and team members
• Use various operating systems and technology to track and report jobs
• Collaborate with the team and company leadership
• Make high-quality decisions in a fast-paced and evolving environment

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1+ years of hardscape installation experience
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Valid DOT card or ability to obtain one
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug test

Qualifications

• 3+ years of landscape construction experience preferred
• Associate degree in horticulture or landscaping preferred
• Class A CDL license preferred
