Landscape Architect
About the role
GMB is seeking a Landscape Architect to join our project teams. In this role, you will work closely with other Landscape Architecture and Civil Engineering team members within a large, professional architectural and engineering firm. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of architects, engineers, and other designers to support our clients and help build strong communities through educational opportunity. Our focus is on projects within the educational ecosystem, from Pre-K through Higher Education and spaces that support lifelong learning.
The Landscape Architecture team is committed to designing environments that enhance the human experience, prioritizing play, learning, and collaboration. We engage with a variety of disciplines, stakeholders, and community members to develop innovative and effective solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead site design and preparation of illustrative concepts, design development solutions, and detailed construction documents.
- Participate with multiple teams on a variety of project types and scales.
- Pursue growth in GMB's core markets, technical knowledge, design capabilities, leadership skills, and successful client interaction.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams while also working independently to meet schedules and deadlines.
- Demonstrate strong skills in athletics, playground, and recreation design.
- Apply understanding of site circulation as it relates to vehicles, buses, and pedestrians.
- Lead exceptional client service with a passion for quality and creativity.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Landscape Architecture or related field from an accredited program.
- 6-8+ years' experience at an Architectural, Landscape Architectural, or Civil Engineering firm.
- Currently professionally licensed or on the path to licensure.
- Excellent time management skills and a thorough understanding of task assignment, scheduling, budgeting, and efficient use of resources.
- Ability to lead and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams while being self-managed.
- Proficiency in relevant design/drafting software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Lumion, Adobe Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
- Experience with higher education and master planning is appreciated.

- Demonstrated ability to balance short-term deadlines against long-term goals.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Horticultural knowledge.
- AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar modeling experience.
