Position Summary

Provides technical and clerical support to the Lands Division and provides general information to the Tribal Membership and general public regarding land status issues, Crossing Permits, and general land management related issues.

Education And Experience

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 1 year of experience working with natural resources management/land/realty issues
  • 1 year of experience in reviewing legal documents, such as Deeds of Trust, Warranty Deeds, Quit Claim Deeds, or contracts and leases related to realty or real property transactions
  • 1 year of experience in reviewing and interpreting legal descriptions, plats or preparing maps
  • 1 year of clerical experience
  • Strong background in computer software programs including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Pass a Lands Division skills test
  • Valid Driver’s license for state of residency and be insurable under the Tribal Vehicle Insurance Policy
  • Pass a thorough criminal history background check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong computer skills in GIS/Arcview, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Tribal and Federal land related law
  • Knowledge of the Southern Ute Indian Reservation, Tribal natural resources, and land ownership status
