Landfill Laborer
About the role
A Laborer is responsible for safely and efficiently performing general labor duties at a hauling company, transfer station, recycling center or landfill. Responsibilities may include such things as yard clean-up, fueling vehicles and equipment, general vehicle operation, general office maintenance and other related duties.
Responsibilities
- Clean up work areas;
- Fuel vehicles and equipment;
- Clean track on track type and related equipment;
- Perform yard work, including mowing and paper pick up;
- Operate general site vehicles and equipment, such as water trucks, pick up trucks, sweepers, mowers, trimming equipment, etc. ;
- Perform general office maintenance and repairs, including painting and janitorial work;
- Install temporary wind fences, as required;
- Direct traffic at the site as necessary;
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Valid driver’s license;
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs;
- Knowledge of basic safety procedures;
- Experience in a similar role preferred.
Skills
- Strong physical fitness;
- Good communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently;
- Basic computer skills.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $20.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Schedule
Hours are typically Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, with some weekend and evening work as needed.
