Tetra Tech is adding a Laborer to our Landfill Gas Construction/Drilling team.

Essential Job Functions

  • Effectively communicate with clients and peers.
  • Work independently without continuous supervision.
  • Complete project related paperwork neatly, timely, and accurately including but not limited to timesheets, dallies, expense reports, etc.
  • Understand environmental and health and safety regulations while performing construction activities in a safe and proper manner.
  • Auxiliary with the procurement of materials, equipment, and supplies for projects.
  • Perform maintenance on system components to ensure or restore proper operation and compliance.
  • Operate general site vehicles and equipment, such as pickup trucks, and smaller equipment.
  • Maintain, clean, and organized equipment and supplies.
  • Maneuver, cut, and fuse HDPE liner.
  • Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
  • Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Required Qualifications

  • A High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • One (1) year of experience in decentralized business in construction, outdoor labor, mining and farming industries.
  • Understand operation and maintenance of landfill gas (LFG) and landfill fluids collection systems.
  • Must be familiar with or able to become familiar with applicable environmental and health & safety regulations and regulatory requirements.
  • To drive for company business, you must maintain a safe driving record as defined by Tetra Tech’s Vehicle Safety program. This offer of employment is contingent upon successful evaluation of a motor vehicle (MVR) check, if required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Landfill or refuse collection experience.
  • Proficient in the use of the PC, specifically with the Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

Physical Requirements

  • Lift a minimum of 50 pounds on a non-consistent basis.
  • Climb, bend, and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Walk long distances, up and down steeply sloped landfills (1:1, 2:1, and 3:1) and outdoor terrain.
  • Frequently lift or carry containers, poly pipe, carry loose materials to truck.

Work Environment / Environmental Factors

  • Work in variable conditions including extreme (hot and cold) weather safely.
  • Work around (not operate) heavy construction equipment (excavators, dozers, road trucks, etc.), survey equipment, pipe fusion equipment & techniques, compacting and materials handling equipment.

Additional Information

  • Travel for extended periods, as necessary, up to 6 weeks (80% of the year away from home). Typically, on rotation every 3-6 weeks.
  • Must be available to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
  • A background investigation if required. Please note that this investigation requires your consent and cooperation.
  • This offer is also contingent on valid proof of completed OSHA 10 Hour Construction certificate as defined by Tetra Tech.

Compensation

Pay commensurate with experience.

A pre-employment drug screen in compliance with federal regulations is required, along with a physical if needed.
