About the role

This position will assist Professional Surveyors with CAD production, boundary analysis, research, legal description and easement preparation, deliverables review, computations, and adherence to specific state statutes while working under the responsible charge of a Professional Land Surveyor.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Professional Land Surveyors with CAD production, boundary analysis, research, legal description and easement preparation, deliverables review, computation, and adherence to specific state statutes.
  • Work with the Professional Surveyor to define project tasks, schedule, and resource requirements.
  • Evaluate property boundaries in metes and bounds and public land survey states.
  • Travel occasionally for courthouse research.
  • Coordinate with field crews and office staff.
  • Perform QA/QC checks.
  • Stay current on service-specific trends, technology, software, hardware, and equipment.
  • Ensure division, regional, and company policies and practices are consistently followed within the survey service.
  • Lead by example—display solid judgment, good values, trust, honesty, openness, and professionalism.

Requirements

  • Surveyor in Training certification.
  • Four-year degree preferred and/or 3-plus years of land survey field experience.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and projects independently.
  • Civil 3D experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience coordinating activities with office personnel, including surveying technicians and engineering staff.
  • Experience searching for/recovering Public Land Survey System monuments.
  • Ability to travel and remain on a project site or other Westwood office for extended periods (must have the capability of self-funding expenses until reimbursement).
  • TBC experience preferred.
