Responsibilities

  • Assist the LS: Oversee the production department of surveyors and CAD Techs.
  • Schedule fieldwork, office work, and project deliverables.
  • Establish deadlines, assign responsibilities, and monitor and summarize the progress of projects.
  • Prepare work plans, assemble project teams, delegate tasks, and ensure compliance with the scope and timely completion.
  • Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and financial performance of assigned projects.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing and new clients.
  • Evaluate policy and procedures to ensure all deliverables are done accurately and using the most efficient method.
  • Collaborate with project team members, including other licensed surveyors, engineers, and technical and survey staff.
  • Review and process the results of field surveys, including the shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions of land features and structures.
  • Verify the accuracy of field survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.
  • Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes.
  • Act safely at all times.
  • Maintain firm standards for the preparation of survey and mapping documents.
  • Provide technical direction and oversight to survey staff regarding approach and resolution of office/field conflicts.
  • Assist field crews with field work as needed.

Qualifications

  • Education: Graduation from high school or GED. equivalent is required. Additional college coursework or apprenticeship is highly desirable. An advanced degree is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of five years of land surveying experience and has earned their LSIT or is qualified to take LSIT exam.
  • Knowledge: Of Civil 3D, preferred Carlson Civil Suites – IntelliCAD, preferred Office management practices and procedures Client communication and customer service via email, phone, or in-person Project and field crew staff management and evaluation Government, Commercial, Residential and Retail Projects Sokkia, Trimble Total Station, Data Collectors Drone experience, preferred Mathematical Calculations, Measurement Errors Certifications/Licenses Valid driver’s license with insurable record LSIT preferred

Skills/Abilities

  • Professionalism, punctuality, and reliability.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical capabilities.
  • The ability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple projects.
  • The ability to read and interpret field notes, engineering plans, and construction documents.
  • The ability to perform deed and utility research and compile record information such as record maps, legal descriptions, utility information, and right of way data.
  • The ability to perform calculations and instructions for fieldwork and construction stakeout.
  • The ability to provide solutions to civil site design challenges.
