Responsibilities

  • Review and approve surveys and plats prepared by private surveyors.
  • Prepare or review internal surveys and legal descriptions.
  • Assist as needed with the public land corner program.
  • Do extensive records research, starting from around the 1860s to the present time.
  • Evaluate corners in the field and prepare narratives and historic descriptions for USBT corner records in the office.
  • Write reports on how the corner was verified or set, based on the evidence found in the field.
  • Prepare a sketch and history for each land corner that will be used for drafting the USBT map.

Requirements

  • Registered Public Land Surveyor license.
  • Strong investigative skills.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Geography, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in surveying, preferably in public land surveying.
  • Knowledge of Oregon Survey laws.

Pay

Annual Pay Range: $99,061.31 - $125,009.44
