Land Surveyor

Responsibilities
- Review and approve surveys and plats prepared by private surveyors.
- Prepare or review internal surveys and legal descriptions.
- Assist as needed with the public land corner program.
- Do extensive records research, starting from around the 1860s to the present time.
- Evaluate corners in the field and prepare narratives and historic descriptions for USBT corner records in the office.
- Write reports on how the corner was verified or set, based on the evidence found in the field.
- Prepare a sketch and history for each land corner that will be used for drafting the USBT map.
Requirements
- Registered Public Land Surveyor license.
- Strong investigative skills.
- Excellent writing skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Geography, or related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in surveying, preferably in public land surveying.
- Knowledge of Oregon Survey laws.

Pay
Annual Pay Range: $99,061.31 - $125,009.44
