Land Development Intern - Summer 2027

About the position

VHB’s I-64 offices in Richmond, Virginia Beach, and Williamsburg are seeking a Land Development Intern to join the team. Interns will work on civil engineering projects and learn technical skills and computation software.

Responsibilities

• Interact effectively with VHB staff, clients, and consultants to advance projects in a timely manner
• Perform engineering calculations
• Prepare preliminary and final design plans
• Develop contract documents including specifications
• Prepare engineer’s estimates
• Create construction documents

Skills and attributes

• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Self-motivated with attention to detail
• Ability to multitask
• Excels at working in a team environment

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering
• Strong interest in civil engineering

VHB does not provide housing for internships.

Pay

The hourly pay range for this position in Virginia is $19 to $30. The actual hourly rate offered will be determined based on job-related factors, including geographic location, internal equity, experience, credentials, skills, education, work schedule, and other factors permitted by law. The posted hourly range reflects base pay only. Additional compensation and benefits available to eligible employees are outlined in VHB’s Total Rewards Program.
