Land Acquisitioner

About the role

D.R. Horton, Inc., the largest homebuilder in the U.S., is seeking a Land Acquisitioner for their Operations Department. This position involves acquiring undeveloped land or finished lots for development, working with various stakeholders, and negotiating purchase contracts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Cook up, secure, and organize land acquisition leads
• Provide initial response plans for all new leads from external sources
• Carry out title and municipal research and make initial inquiries for potential land leads
• Host initial meetings with sellers and/or seller's representatives
• Supply all pertinent property details, seller demands, terms, conditions, and contact information to management
• Prepare letters of intent
• Keep track of and analyze the financial aspects of each development opportunity
• Communicate regularly with city officials
• Negotiate purchase contracts with sellers
• Operate in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and enhance the goodwill and profitability of the company
• Able to travel overnight

Qualifications

• Fifth year college or university program certificate
• Four to six years related experience and/or training
• Proficiency with MS Office and email

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and attention to detail

Pay

Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
