Lance is a 4-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier mix from Miami who has been patiently waiting for a home for over a year. This big goofball is as pleasing to your heart as he is to your eyes, with a whole lot of love to go around.

Ideal Home

Lance desperately wants a home where he can just be himself. The ideal home would be calm, relaxing, and with a person who enjoys being active outside the house. Lance would do best as the only pet because he connects with his humans and loves them hard. He doesn't need attention from many, just his favorites.

Personality & Behavior

• Takes time to warm up to new people, but it's worth the patience—once you've gained his trust, he is loyal to his people and lives to please them
• All about his toys and tends to guard them; always holds a toy in his mouth, even on walks
• Would benefit from an adopter who will continue his training and help him understand that sharing is caring
• Doesn't mind other dogs, but parks aren't the best place for him due to all the strangers there
