About the Role

As a Laminator Assistant, you will set up and prepare materials specified on the work order for production on the machine. You will work closely with the Operator in the production process at a flexible packaging facility specializing in produce packaging.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Laminator Operator in setting up and running production in the lamination department.
  • Transport laminated, raw material, and printed material throughout the warehouse using a forklift.
  • Break down raw material or film from skids to be loaded onto the machine.
  • Use a mechanical lift to load/unload printed and laminated rolls, and adjust the shaft for recommended core size.
  • Install adhesive and antifog at designated stations, including specific sleeves for glue and antifog per work order.
  • Use job-specific tools and manipulate machine controls, including dial indicators.
  • Prepare materials according to the production schedule and work order.
  • Monitor raw material inventory to prevent production shortages.
  • Record all raw material waste and ensure proper recycling.
  • Label all finished and return-to-stock materials accurately.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the work area during shifts and transitions.
  • Participate in scheduled cleaning and preventative maintenance on machinery.
  • Follow all Amcor safety and production policies.
  • Help establish standard operating procedures to improve department efficiency.
  • Enter measurements and quality check specifications in the production workbook.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide detailed information for the lamination process.
  • Prioritize safety in all tasks.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor.

Work Environment

  • Non-climate-controlled facility.
  • Exposure to regulated hazardous and flammable chemicals; PPE required.
  • Physical demands include walking and standing for long periods, occasional lifting of cores and shafts, climbing ladders, crouching, and reaching.
  • Work around moving parts, nip rollers, and ovens.

Requirements

  • Basic computer skills for data entry and training purposes.
  • Ability to flex hours to support multi-shift operations.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality control and safe production.

Pay

The starting salary for this position is $18.00 per hour. Base pay may include a geographic differential based on work location.
