Lake Patrol - Part Time - Seasonal

Safety, Compliance & Enforcement

• Educate and enforce Lake Oswego Corporation rules with shareholders and easement members.
• Respond to emergency calls, coordinate with public safety agencies, and support incident management efforts.
• Conduct or oversee boat operator testing, and driver certification recordkeeping.
• Monitor lake and shoreline conditions for hazards, recommend corrective actions, and implement safety measures.

Community & Stakeholder Engagement

• Serve as the primary contact for law enforcement, fire, and public safety partners.
• Respond to shareholders and community inquiries with discretion and professionalism.
• Support community events such as the Fourth of July Parade and Hot August Night concert.
• Support the Operations and Marina teams with daily operations as needed.

Administration & Reporting

• Compile patrol activity summaries, enforcement reports, and incident documentation in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate records, patrol logs, and safety metrics.
• Prepare and, when required, provide testimony in legal or administrative proceedings.

Other Duties

• Support employee safety program by conducting training, participating in safety committee meetings.
• Support other departments as needed in activities such as development, marina, operations, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in law enforcement, fire/life safety, Military, public safety administration, or related field is preferred.
• Demonstrated customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and interact with members and the public.
• Strong watercraft handling skills and have ability to swim.
• Current First Aid and CPR/AED certification.
• Able and familiar with basic computer programs such as email, word, excel, etc.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Work performed in both office and outdoor environments, with frequent exposure to water and varying weather conditions.
• Requires standing, walking, swimming, bending, and operating watercraft.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Requires visual and auditory acuity to monitor lake activity.

Employment Conditions

• Successful completion of a pre-employment background check, reference check, and drug screening (as permitted by law).
• Compliance with LOC workplace policies regarding conduct, confidentiality, and safety.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required during peak seasons.

Compensation & Classification

• This position is hourly and non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and Oregon wage laws.
• Overtime is paid for hours worked beyond 40 in a workweek.
• The role does not carry any direct supervisory responsibilities and reports directly to the Patrol Manager.
