Job Duties
- Perform assigned tasks involving the care and maintenance of Lake Farmington grounds including parks facilities.
- Conduct daily risk assessments and watercraft inspections to prevent the introduction of Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS).
- Complete Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) training and certification provided by NMDGF.
- Inform guests about AIS through interactions and provided literature.
- Enforce rules and regulations of Lake Farmington.
- Provide outstanding customer service to all guests.
- Operate a pickup truck and various equipment, including noisy equipment.
- Perform tasks such as shoveling, raking, and cleaning in dusty conditions.
- Pick up and load trash barrels onto trucks.
- Clean and repair park shelters, picnic tables, grills, and other lake amenities.
- Handle cash and operate a cash register.
- Enter and reconcile daily and monthly reports.
- Assist and respond to public inquiries and complaints.
Qualifications
- Pass the City's Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace Program.
- Background check required.
- Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Able to handle difficult people and situations with respect, calmness, and courtesy.
- Understand confidentiality and maintain it.
- Able to perform data entry at a rate sufficient to perform duties.
- Able to operate noisy equipment for extended periods.
- Able to learn and operate computer software, tools, and equipment safely.
- Able to work well under pressure and in stressful situations.
- Able to work harmoniously with co-workers and interact positively with patrons.
- Desirable to have knowledge of parks maintenance and outdoor recreation.
- Valid New Mexico driver's license with an acceptable driving record for the past three years or state of current residency.
- Experience in administrative office skills, including typing, computer, calculator, telephone, and related office machines.
- Able to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays.
- Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Physical Demands
- Frequent reaching with arms and hands.
- Standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing.
- Using hands to finger, handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls.
- Climbing or balancing.
- Stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Lifting and moving up to 50 pounds individually and with assistance.
- Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
- Near moving mechanical parts.
- In outside weather conditions.
- Exposure to hot, wet/humid, windy, dusty environments.
- Occasional exposure to electrical shock.
- Noisy work environment at times.
