About the role
Join our team for the 2026 fall tour season at Lake Geneva Cruise Line. Positions are available from mid-August through the end of October, with both full-time (seasonal) and part-time options. High-performing employees may be added to our roster for the 2027 season. All applicants must live in proximity to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, USA. Transportation and housing are not provided.
All positions offer flexible schedules and competitive pay.
Responsibilities
Captains In Training
- Safely operate the boat and ensure passenger safety and comfort
- Instruct LGCL employees on emergency and safety procedures
- Assign crew duties and oversee activities of crew members, wait staff, bartenders, and outside vendors
- Coordinate cleaning efforts, check engines, perform basic maintenance, and pilot the boat
- Keep order and deliver narrated tours
- Duties vary depending on the boat and whether the shift is for a charter or public tour
Bartender
- Serve all items handled at the bar
- Manage inventory, cash receipts, and collection of charges from wait staff
- Work with the Captain to resolve charges from charter groups
- Clean the bar before and after each shift, maintain sanitary operations, and stock the bar
Crew/Tour Guide
- Clean, polish brass, and set up the boat
- Deliver live narrated tours
- Maintain order on board and interact with passengers
- Assist with any additional duties as needed
- Remain visible to customers at all times to answer questions and provide assistance
- Duties vary depending on whether the cruise is a private charter or public tour
Wait Staff
- Set up, clean, and prepare the boat for meal cruises
- Serve food during the event and clean up afterward
- Take drink orders during the cruise (cocktailing duties)
Ticket Seller
- Greet customers with courtesy and efficiency
- Answer customer questions and complete ticket sales transactions
- Perform office tasks as needed
- Count cash drawer before and after shifts and communicate discrepancies to the manager
Office Staff (Reservationist)
- Handle phone reservations and provide information to customers
- Be knowledgeable about tour schedules, prices, and sales aspects of the business
- Create informational signs/flyers, print daily manifests, tickets, and invoices
- Check in bus groups
Dock Hand
- Sell gas to boating customers
- Assist groups in locating the correct boat
- Manage inventory and keep stock rooms organized
- Wash dishes and maintain a clean, uncluttered dock area
- Assist boat crews with set up, clean-up, and supply runs
- Bag ice and help in any situation as needed
- Work unsupervised and stay productive with assigned duties
