LAH OPS Veterinary Technician
About the role
The University of Florida Large Animal Hospital seeks a part-time veterinary technician to join their team. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, adaptable, and experienced in treating horses, with the possibility of handling other livestock species.
Responsibilities
- Perform medical treatments and procedures under the supervision of senior staff
- Work on-call for nights, weekends, and holidays
- Occasionally cover staff leave
- Work in a 24/7 open unit, performing various tasks
- Live close to the vet school and have reliable transportation
Requirements
- Experience with horses
- Able to lift at least 50 lbs and perform tasks requiring bending, kneeling, and squatting
Qualifications
Preferred experience as a Veterinary Technician.
Skills
Caring, well-organized, and adaptable skills are essential.

Health Assessment
Required: Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs, bend, kneel, pull, push, twist and stand for an extended period of time.
Prefered Experience
Preferred experience as a Veterinary Technician.
