Position Summary
In accordance with the St. Peter's Health Partners Mission and Values, develops, implements and evaluates a comprehensive program of lactation services across the SPHP Continuum of Women's and Children's Services. Required by NYCRR 10; 405.8, this regulation stipulates that one person in the organization, "thoroughly trained in breastfeeding physiology and management be responsible for ensuring the implementation of an effective breastfeeding program."
Education Requirements
- Associates Degree required in a Health related field
- Bachelors degree in a Health related field preferred
- CLC (certified lactation counselor certification) OR certified breastfeeding counselor (CBC) certification is required
- International Board of Lactation Consultants (IBCLC) is expected to be obtained within two years of employment by full time lactation specialists
Experience Requirements
- Two or more years of experience in clinical or community service setting, one of which must have been in the area of maternal-child care
- Previous lactation counseling/consulting experience highly desirable
Pay Range
Pay Range: $40.00- $53.10 Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
