Lactation Consultant (Per Diem) - NHMP Northern OB/GYN - Rhinebeck, NY

This Lactation Consultant position is with the NHMP Northern OB/GYN department in Rhinebeck, NY.

Responsibilities

• Conducts assessment of breastfeeding dyad in an ongoing & systematic manner, attentive to the physiologic, psychologic, & cognitive status of the patient.
• Incorporates the nursing process to develop a plan of care that educates & directs the nursing staff & patient in appropriate management to achieve breastfeeding success.
• Collaborates with the health care team to implement the knowledgeable, skillful, consistent & continuous delivery of a plan of care specific to the breastfeeding patient's needs.
• Prioritizes consultation/intervention/education based on maternal/infant status, learning needs, length of stay, & available resources.
• Utilizes an interdisciplinary approach to evaluate the effectiveness of LC interventions, plan of care, & patient progression towards expected outcomes.
• Provides breastfeeding support & education to staff & patients within the Danbury Hospital & in the community.
• Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• State of CT Registered Nurse
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program
• Minimum 3 Years of Experience
• Master's in nursing

Qualifications

• Significant manual skills / motor coord & finger dexterity
• Significant occupational risk
• Very Heavy effort. May exert up to 50 lbs. force
• Significant exposure to dirt, odor, noise, human waste, etc.

Pay

Salary Range: $41.00 - $76.16 (Rate of pay is determined by years of relative experience)

Schedule

Per Diem, 8-hour shifts, 8:30am - 5:00pm
