LACCD SAC 525 Contract Administrator IV - IT Purchasing Specialist

About the role

This position serves as the Contract Administrator IV - IT Purchasing Specialist within the Project Management Office (PMO) at LACCD SAC 525. The role involves managing contracts for IT goods and services, including software licensing and hardware purchases, and working closely with vendors and other departments.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate and manage contracts for IT goods and services, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Manage the purchasing process, including ordering, receiving, and payment of invoices.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment on project requirements and budget constraints.
• Ensure adherence to procurement policies and procedures, including those outlined in California Public Contract Codes.
• Utilize electronic bidding platforms like PlanetBids for sourcing and awarding contracts.
• Provide support for contract administration, including document management and contract closeout.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to optimize procurement processes.

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in IT procurement or similar field.
• Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Familiarity with software licensing models (SaaS, subscription, perpetual) and related hardware.
• Experience negotiating pricing and terms specific to IT goods and services contracting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, SAP, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Ability to exercise judgment and discretion, set priorities, and manage competing demands.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with procurement subject to California Public Contract Codes.
• Experience with electronic bidding platforms, specifically PlanetBids.
• Knowledge of California Higher Education Codes.
• Knowledge of California Community College Codes.
