Discover a more connected career at North Sky Communications, LLC. As a Laborer II on our Telecom Underground team, you'll take on advanced responsibilities in all phases of underground construction.Responsibilities
- Build the Backbone of Connectivity: Assist in the installation and maintenance of high-speed telecommunications infrastructure.
- Lead the Groundwork: Master advanced equipment and techniques for precision excavation and heavy machinery operations.
- Master the Installation: Install and maintain complex telecommunications cabling to meet exact project specifications and quality standards.
- Command the Equipment: Operate, inspect, and maintain a fleet of construction vehicles and gear to ensure site safety.
- Own the Site: Communicate with supervisors and mentor Level I laborers to keep the project on track.
- Track Your Impact: Document daily progress through detailed production reports.
- Leave a Legacy: Ensure every job site is restored to meet client expectations.
- Safety as a Standard: Champion a "safety first" culture, working safely in all weather conditions and site challenges.
Requirements
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- At least 18 years of age
- Authorization to work in the United States for North Sky Communications
- A high school diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
- 2+ years of experience operating construction equipment, utility trucks, or similar underground utility tasks
- Strong ability to work independently and contribute effectively in team environments
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and extended hours as needed
- Ability to work safely in all weather conditions
- Effective communication skills and a proactive problem-solving approach
- Ability to pass a drug screen (including DOT compliance) and a criminal background screening
Physical Abilities & Exposures
- Routinely: Work in remote locations and confined spaces with arms above shoulder level. Operate commercial vehicles and heavy machinery. Perform tasks requiring fine hand motion, bending, stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs, and lifting greater than 55 pounds.
- Occasionally: Use ladders, keyboards, and a mouse.
