The Role
- Aid drill operators and locators with equipment to complete assigned projects
- Work in and around both standard and high-risk areas with live utilities
- Learn about utility depths and placements
- Ensure vehicles, equipment and tools are properly maintained, in good repair and secured in a safe manner
- Review field designs and work with drill team to communicate discrepancies to supervisor for change orders
- Properly document all work completed to include pothole and bore logs
- Learn and assist with conduit splicing, vault/pedestal placement and fiber/coax placement as needed
- Complete general restoration and cleanup
- Complete all projects with safety as the #1 priority, ensuring compliance with internal safety standards and all governmental orders
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Underground telecommunications construction or installation experience (entry level will not need experience but also seeking those with experience and CDL)
- Ability to travel daily, out of state as needed, with company provided accommodations and per diems
- Ability to work outside of business hours when needed, overtime, holidays, evenings, weekends etc., in all seasons
- Excellent customer service, time management, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- High level of energy, motivation and attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task, shifting from one task to another without interruption
- Ability to work with a noise level from moderate to loud
- Ability to lift and carry up to 70lbs as needed
- Ability to complete work outdoors, in tight spaces or elevated by bending, reaching, twisting, climbing in all weather conditions year round
- Ability to safely work and navigate various terrains, managing equipment, safety equipment and tools
- Must provide a valid government-issued photo ID for verification; a driver’s license is required if the role involves driving
- Class A CDL ideal but not required for all positions
- Passing of all pre-employment requirements (MVR, Background Check, Drug Screen)
