Laborer, Stable

About the role

The Stable Laborer at Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel is responsible for cleaning and maintaining barn stalls, shed rows, and grounds. Additional responsibilities include assisting in the day-to-day operation of the Racing Office and paddock during racing season, processing stable applications, and allotting stalls to horsemen.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and maintaining barn stalls
• Grounds upkeep including general landscaping tasks such as grass cutting and weed eating
• Guest service and ensuring a favorable experience for guests
• Safety and security of team members and guests
• Facilitating, processing, and managing programs to effectively control and reduce time loss injuries
• Reporting maintenance needed on physical structures (e.g., stalls, stall doors)
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience is preferred
• Able to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license
• Physical requirements include standing, walking, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs
