Requirements
- Knowledge of proper and safe use of equipment, materials and supplies used in construction work.
- Basic knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions.
- Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
- Ability to lift objects less than or equal to 100 pounds.
- Walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous and non-strenuous physical labor under general construction conditions.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
- Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.
- Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
- Must be eligible for and maintain a Top Secret (TS)/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance.
- Must be a US Citizen
Responsibilities/Duties
- Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous and non-strenuous manual labor in construction projects.
- Material handling, loading, unloading and storage.
- Lifting, carrying and moving materials by hand, cart, wheel barrel or hand truck 100 pound weight limit per person.
- Assist in the performance of minor wall, ceiling, conduit, piping and floor demolition by using hand and power tools.
- Transport and place concrete.
- Mix mortar for brick and block masons using hand and power tools.
- Maintain a clean job site: Sweeping, mopping, shoveling typical construction trash and debris for removal to the trash chute or dumpster.
- Pick up tools, power cords and equipment to be secured in the job site lock box each day.
- Hoist Operation.
- Other duties as assigned.
