Responsibilities

• Serve as trainer for new employees in Laborer I or II roles.
• Aids in training staff on equipment operation, production requirements, material, and equipment technology.
• Reviews and explains work, and communicates company procedures and processes.
• Sorts and organizes metal material into bins, boxes, or bags.
• Operates and observes machines for chopping and separating metals.
• Sorts material by hand at the shredder, shaker table, or other machines.
• Dismantles metal using hand tools or mechanical means.
• Experience working in two or more departments.
• Ability to operate a forklift.
• Works independently and completes tasks as directed.
• Maintains good housekeeping of the assigned area.
• Follows company and OSHA safety procedures.
• Reports issues to supervisor, safety, or HR.
• Adheres to daily procedures and protocols.
• Collaborates with team members to achieve departmental goals.
• Willingness to follow department leadership directions.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Ability to perform manual work requiring periods of extensive physical exertion and exposure to adverse weather conditions.
• Adherence to health and safety regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Manual dexterity for handling and manipulating items, samples, and tools.
• Visual acuity for close vision, color vision, and focus adjustment.
• Ability to stand, walk, negotiate stairs, ladders, elevated catwalks, and platforms.
• Occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
