Laborer, Heavy Civil Construction (Havre)

About the role

Williams Civil Construction is hiring Laborers to join their Heavy Civil team for a project in Havre, Montana.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor on civil and heavy/highway construction projects.
• Auxiliary tasks include preparing surfaces for paving and other site work.
• Shovel bituminous concrete, asphalt, gravel, dirt, and other materials into construction areas.
• Assist with excavating and filling trenches, ditches, and other work areas by hand.
• Help set up, maintain, and clean work zones in a safe and organized manner.
• Load and unload trucks, haul materials, and assist with material handling and storage.
• Follow directions from foremen, operators, and other crew members.
• Support the crew with day-to-day tasks as needed to keep projects moving safely and efficiently.

Requirements

• Previous construction or general labor experience preferred, but not required.
• Willingness and ability to perform physically demanding work in outdoor conditions.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, shovels, rakes, and other basic construction tools safely.
• Basic understanding of job site safety, or a willingness to learn and follow safety procedures.
• Ability to follow instructions and communicate clearly with your team.
• Dependability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
• Willingness to learn, adapt, and help wherever needed.
• Ability to work as part of a crew and take direction from supervisors.
• Basic math skills for measurements, quantities, and material handling are helpful.
