Laborer - Equipment II
Cleanliness and Site Preparation
- Remove debris and potential hazards from the construction site.
- Lubricate and clean machinery, equipment, and tools.
Loading and Unloading
- Load or unload materials to be used during construction.
Structural Work
- Erect and disassemble temporary structures.
- Dig trenches, backfill holes, or compact earth to prepare for construction.
Operational Tasks
- Operate power tools and hand tools.
- Assist skilled trades, such as electricians and carpenters, with their duties.
Communication and Teamwork
- Communicate effectively through written and verbal means.
- Work as a team member and take initiative to achieve goals.
- Function as a team player and collaborator.
- Work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Skills and Safety
- Maintain a valid and current driver’s license.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and layout tools safely and efficiently.
Qualifications
- Working knowledge, skills, and abilities relevant to the position.
- 2+ years of construction labor/helper experience.
- A current and valid driver’s license.

About the Role
Louisiana Bridge Builders is constructing the new I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and is also responsible for the reconstruction of interstate highway, various structures, ramps, and approaches for a 5.5 mile stretch between I-210 West End and Ryan Street. The Laborer – Equipment II position supports the company by performing general physical labor on the project site, including but not limited to cleaning and preparing the site, loading/unloading materials, erecting/disassembling structures, operating tools, and assisting skilled trades.

The Laborer – Equipment II position is based in Lake Charles, LA, and requires a flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed, to support business operations.
