Laborer

Essential Functions

• Performs a combination of tasks, usually working in a utility capacity, as a member of a construction crew on a project consisting of primarily raking and shoveling for asphalt paving operations.
• Laborer duties may also include tasks associated with grading, underground utilities, and/or miscellaneous other construction work.

Education Requirements

• A high school diploma is preferable.

Experience Requirements

• 3 to 5 or more years of construction experience with a focus on asphalt paving.
• Grading & underground utilities are a plus.

Desired Knowledge and/or Skills

• Dependable, quality oriented, self-motivated, and able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
• Certified in the use of a laser set-up (senior level-grading).
• Familiarity with plan and stake reading (grading & underground).

Western Engineering Contractors provide initial mass grading, utility installation, finish paving, and complete pre-construction services. We often have Section 3 work. Preference will be given to Section 3 residents for hiring.

Pay is $28-$32 per hour based on experience.
