About the role
The Laborer position is located in the Facilities Management Service of the VA Boston Healthcare System. This position is located in the Jamaica Plain, MA campus. This position is full-time at 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Moves materials, assists other type journeymen due to urgency of work to be accomplished, gardener's helper, policing grounds, moving furniture, truck driver's helper, loading and unloading trucks and other various duties.
- Fulfills duties involving grounds and maintenance work, including digging ditches, filling holes, laying sod, clearing small trees and bushes, operating large and small power equipment, and performing limited roads maintenance work.
- Attends Engineering Monthly Staff Meetings to obtain and participate in discussions on appropriate resolutions to problems.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must be able to wear safety equipment and clothing when appropriate and required.
- May be required to travel to other VA campuses and Community Based Outpatient Clinics.

- Must demonstrate evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position.
