Laborer

About the role

A Laborer is responsible for safely and efficiently performing general labor duties at a hauling company, transfer station, recycling center or landfill. Responsibilities may include such things as yard clean-up, fueling vehicles and equipment, general vehicle operation, general office maintenance and other related duties.

Responsibilities

• Clean up work areas;
• Fuel vehicles and equipment;
• Clean track on track type and related equipment;
• Perform yard work, including mowing and paper pick up;
• Operate general site vehicles and equipment, such as water trucks, pick up trucks, sweepers, mowers, trimming equipment, etc.;
• Perform general office maintenance and repairs, including painting and janitorial work;
• Install temporary wind fences, as required;
• Direct traffic at the site as necessary;
• and Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent;
• Valid driver’s license;
• Physical ability to perform the essential functions of the job, including lifting and moving heavy objects;
• Ability to follow safety procedures and guidelines;
• Basic computer skills;
• Knowledge of basic workplace tools and equipment.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $20.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

Hours are typically Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, with occasional overtime as needed.
