About the role
This position involves physical work, operating equipment, and being part of a team that prioritizes safety and quality.
Responsibilities
- Auxiliary in surface preparation activities, such as blasting and cleaning steel surfaces.
- Auxiliary in the application of industrial coatings in accordance with company and industry standards.
- Follow project specifications, quality requirements, and inspection procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation and production records.
- Assist with loading, unloading, moving, and organizing steel materials throughout the facility.
- Operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely.
- Assist with staging materials for production and shipment.
- Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Assist other departments as needed to support production schedules.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Wear required PPE, including respirators when necessary.
- Participate in safety meetings, inspections, and training.
- Report safety concerns, equipment issues, or quality deficiencies promptly.
- Work closely with the Production Manager and production team to meet customer deadlines.
- Support company goals related to safety, quality, and productivity.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced industrial environment.
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs regularly.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and perform physical labor for extended periods.
- Legal eligibility to work in the United States.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Forklift certification (or ability to obtain).
- Experience in industrial painting, coating application, sandblasting, or surface preparation.
- Experience in steel fabrication, construction, manufacturing, or industrial environments.
- Familiarity with safety programs and quality standards.
