Laboratory Technician l

About the role

The Laboratory Technician I receives sufficient authority from, and is accountable to the Laboratory Supervisor or appointed designate for the successful completion of assigned duties and responsibilities. This role has the authority to take action necessary to carry out duties and identify departures from the quality system or procedures for performing tests and/or calibrations, following established company guidelines and sound technical and business judgment.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates and promotes the company vision
• Ensures regular attendance and punctuality
• Reads, understands, and follows management system requirements, including Quality Manual, SOPs, Local Work Instructions, and Methods to ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17025/AOAC ALACC and relevant government regulatory requirements
• Adheres to all health, safety, and environmental regulations; maintains a clean, safe work environment
• Registers incoming samples and maintains accurate records of work performed
• Enters sample data into Eurofins eLIMS system accurately and timely
• Completes laboratory testing on incoming samples efficiently, ensuring turnaround time goals are met or exceeded
• Verifies and submits results to appropriate personnel in a timely manner
• Identifies process difficulties and reports these with proposed solutions to supervisor
• Maintains readiness to respond to client, staff, and co-worker queries
• Fosters cooperative working relationships with all employees through clear oral and written communication
• Promotes the company image through ethical business practices
• Strives to improve work quality through existing and new technologies
• Identifies non-conformances and out-of-specifications
• Conducts all activities safely and efficiently
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma required
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology, Food Sciences, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field (preferred)
• Experience in plating, plate reading, and sample preparation (preferred)

Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM
