About the role

Our Laboratory Technicians strictly adhere to laboratory SOPs to ensure quality and safety and often communicate with customers via email. They understand customer needs with empathy and know their work makes a difference. This role may require occasional overtime and prolonged periods of standing. Ideal candidates are proactive, detail-oriented, able to meet tight deadlines, and thrive in fast-paced environments. We provide a dedicated training program to set you up for success.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to safety protocols and strictly follow SOPs and site trainer’s direction in training, sample handling, project processing, and documentation.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work area.
  • Sort incoming samples and prepare sequencing templates, including preparation, amplification, and PCR purification.
  • Perform labware washing, biohazardous/hazardous waste collection, and packaging.
  • Communicate with customers and other departments via email/phone in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Assist in purifying sequencing templates and load samples onto sequencing machines.
  • Work with automation platforms as needed.
  • May require working overtime and/or weekends, with alternative shifts provided with advanced notice.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma (required).
  • AAS Degree or equivalent lab work experience (preferred).
  • 1+ years of lab work experience (preferred).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
  • Quick learner who retains new concepts effectively.
  • Strong team-player committed to organizational goals.
  • Flexibility to work onsite Monday to Friday, 11:00 AM–7:30 PM EST.
  • Openness and adaptability to changes.

Pay

United States base compensation: $16.50–$20.50 per hour. The posted range is an estimate based on current market data and internal pay structure. Final compensation may vary depending on experience, education, qualifications, performance, and geographic location, among other relevant factors.

Schedule

  • Monday to Friday, 11:00 AM–7:30 PM EST.
  • Occasional overtime and/or weekend work may be required.
  • Alternative shifts may be assigned with advanced notice.
