Responsibilities
- Sampling, processing, and testing materials according to established procedures and specifications.
- Leading other technicians as required.
- Performing and documenting routine maintenance and calibration of equipment.
- Preparing testing and inspection reports.
- Safely maintaining documents and equipment, including company vehicles.
- Maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external personnel.
- Evaluating materials and material test results to assess quality.
- Communicating with direct reports regarding priorities, deadlines, progress, and delays.
- Maintaining a safe usage, storage, and maintenance of all tools and equipment.
- Maintaining a safe working environment by adhering to Raba Kistner Health & Safety and BBS Programs.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Laboratory Technician II: 1-3 years’ experience in this field.
- Laboratory Technician III: 3-5 years’ experience in this field.
- Laboratory Technician IV: 5-10 years’ experience in this field.
- Completion of Troxler Manufacturing or equal radiation safety course (preferred).
- ACI Field Testing Technician Grade 1, ACI Concrete Strength Testing, and ACI Aggregate Testing (preferred).
- Related experience may be substituted with approval from the client.
Preferred Qualifications
- Thorough knowledge of materials characteristics as they relate to lab and field testing, lab and field-testing procedures, and materials used in highway construction.
- Good oral and written communications skills, ability to read and understand procedures, specifications, instruction, labels, reports, etc.
- Knowledge of techniques used to lead others, and techniques to analyze test results.
- Basic math and science knowledge to analyze lab results.
