Laboratory Technician I - CASC

About the role

Perform routine and non-routine chemical and/or metallurgical analytical tasks at assigned site. May collect samples which could include collection from rail cars or trucks in some locations. Prepare samples for analysis using established tests and techniques. Assists with/performs routine chemical and/or metallurgical analysis and reporting. Maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment. Perform other duties as required.

• Maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment
• Perform other duties as required

Requirements

• Demonstrated knowledge of math, chemistry, and/or computer skills appropriate to the assignment
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions
• Candidates may be required to pass a medical exam
• Candidates must pass all required training and/or testing
• Employees may be required to work a non-standard schedule, which may include shift work (other than day shift) at a 24/7, 365-day operation

Preferred Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED
• Experience with mathematic and/or numbers-based tasks
• Experience with chemical sample preparation and/or analysis
• Ability to follow detailed, technical instructions
• Experience with tedious or repetitive motions or tasks
• Strong organizational and documentation skills
• Strong proficiency using MS Excel to develop and maintain spreadsheets, reports, and other documentation

Pay

The estimated pay range for this role is currently $21.00 - $29.00/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits, or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills, and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.
