About the role

The Laboratory Technician I position supports laboratory operations by performing general maintenance, preparing samples, and assisting in various tasks. This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, basic chemistry knowledge, and experience with laboratory techniques and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Retrieves samples from Sample Control for analysis.
• Performs sample preparation using methods such as aliquoting, spiking, tracing, preparing reagents, bottling, concentration, separation, sonicating, and liquid rack setup.
• Resolves discrepancies and anomalies to ensure samples are properly labeled.
• Prepares general laboratory paperwork, including recording analysis results, tracking samples, bench sheets, and laboratory logbooks.
• Washes laboratory glassware to prepare for next day’s samples.
• Stocks laboratory supplies.
• Cleans work area(s) to maintain a safe working environment.
• Assists other laboratory areas as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic chemistry coursework and experience with laboratory techniques.
• Experience with warehouse/inventory skills.
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
• Professional working proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
• High attention to detail.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
• Good verbal English language skills.
• Ability to stand for long periods and squat.
• Adherence to safety protocols and emergency response situations.

Additional Information

This is a full-time position from Tuesday to Saturday, 9 am to 6 pm, with possible overtime. Training may take place Monday to Friday, 9 am to 6 pm. Compensation is $20/hour.
