Laboratory Technician

About the Role

Perform laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials (e.g. soils, aggregates, and concrete). Communicate with project manager, engineering technicians, client representative, contractor’s representative, and others regarding lab test results. Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observations in written and digital reports for daily transmittal to the Terracon Project/Lab Manager. Maintain and clean equipment and associated work areas while adhering to strict safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Under close supervision, assist on tasks and perform basic testing and observations.
• Provide clear documentation of findings and results.
• Communicate information to the Project/Lab Manager and discuss data accuracy in preparation for submittal.
• Submit documentation and communicate results as directed by the Project/Lab Manager.
• Progressively take on increased training and responsibility in work assignments.
• Maintain equipment and follow safety rules and practices for all projects.
• Perform pre-task planning prior to executing work and report any safety issues or concerns to management.
• Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months of experience required.
• A valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history may be required.

Qualifications

• Obtain ACI certification within 90 days of hire.
• Successful completion of related internal safety certifications.
